Program Description

Event Details

When the Northport VA Hospital opened to treat World War I 'shell-shocked’ veterans, the visiting public marveled at its beautiful 550-acre grounds, pleasing architecture and cutting-edge therapies. Lost to historical memory, the fascinating story of the years 1925-1940 confirms the New York Times' 1928 description  of the hospital as an "Outstanding Triumph". Registration is underway.
