Presidents' Day: Library closed

The Library will be closed on Monday, February 16 in observance of Presidents' Day.

Health Insurance Assistance

On the third Thursday of every month from 2 - 5 PM, a Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council Community Health Advocate will be available to help you...

  • Understand, utilize, and navigate your health insurance
  • Access care
  • Switch primary care providers
  • Find specialists
  • Understand how your insurance works (co-pays, deductibles, pre-authorizations)
  • Understand your explanation of benefits
  • Resolve billing issues
  • Understand your rights and responsibilities
  • Explain how to appeal service denials

The Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council is a non-profit organization with grant funding from New York State Department of Health. Once each month, at the Library, a Certified Assistor Counselor will be available to assist consumers to apply for Medicaid programs for adults and children. Strict HIPAA protocols are maintained for privacy.
This is a walk in service.
