Frederick Law Olmsted

This month marks the Bicentennial of the birth of Frederick Law Olmsted, revered as the father of American landscape architecture and perhaps best known for creating New York's Central Park.

Join the National Association for Olmsted Parks to explore his living legacy at Olmsted200.  You can participate in walking tours at Prospect and Central Parks, register for our zoom program on April 25 at 10 am and check out books and movies from our display. This month join the celebration of Olmsted and his living legacy: parks for all people.

The park should be the beauty of the fields, the meadow, the prairie, of the green pastures and the still waters.  What we want to gain is tranquility and rest of the mind."
