Friends of the Harborfields Public LibraryWHO ARE THE FRIENDS?The Friends of the Harborfields Public Library is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1970. They are a group of dedicated volunteers who work in cooperation with Library Staff and whose main objective is to provide additional funding for special programs and items to further enhance our wonderful Library. The money they receive from membership fees, fund-raising events (including the Annual Fall Fashion Show, Bake Sales, and other events) and the proceeds from the Friends' Bookstall, helps them to sponsor various programs at the Library. The Sunday Concert Series, Adult, Young Adult and Children's Summer Reading Programs, bus trips to cultural events and other special programs throughout the year all receive additional funding from the Friends. Over the years the Friends have donated many items to the Library for the whole community to enjoy. The Grand Piano, our Community Room Audio Visual System, the beautiful mural that welcomes you into the Children's Room - and most recently the new Digital Display System for the lobby and meeting room area are all examples of Friends' donations.
